Thesis / Dissertation

We offer full support in:

.

Topic selection

When selecting a topic for your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis, your primary goal is to ensure that this topic is sufficiently ample to be able to research and write at least 20,000 words about, and that it is sufficiently focused. It may sound simple, but in the great majority of the cases students find it close to impossible to find a topic that meets both of these requirements. If you find yourself struggling with the topic for your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis, talk to us. We will help you find a topic that interests you, meets the two requirements above, and is in line with your educational establishment's expectations towards a topic for a Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis.

.

Feasibility study for the research proposed

No matter how well you have thought through your dissertation or thesis topic, you may still find yourself struggling to find sufficient scholarly literature about it and / or gather data necessary for the analysis. To be able to fully evaluate the topic's fitness, you need to conduct a feasibility study. A feasibility study consists of doing an extensive literature and data research, which may take dozens of hours but will save you many months of time wasted on a topic that was not suitable for the purpose of a dissertation or thesis. Should you find yourself in need of a feasibility study, but no time to conduct it, talk to us. We will do a thorough peer-reviewed, scholarly literature and database research and present you with a fully-supported response to the question of the research feasibility.

.

ERB

Ethics boards require you to fill in lengthy forms part of which is a relatively short, but very detailed and unambiguous, research proposal. If you struggling to complete such a form, talk to us. We will assist you with completing such a form to the requirements of your establishment.

.

Research proposal

Research proposal may or may not form part (meaning you will copy and paste it into your dissertation or thesis) of your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis. If it does, you are looking at a very lengthy research proposal that will take you dozens of hours to complete. If your research proposal is a stand-alone document (meaning you will not be allowed to copy and paste it into your dissertation or thesis), it will be significantly shorter and will take significantly less time to complete. In both cases, however, you will need to lay out the particulars of your research definitively in your research proposal and follow them when you start writing the actual dissertation or thesis. If you are struggling with putting such a document together, talk to us. We will work with you through a short or a long version of the research proposal and make sure it meets the requirements of your educational establishment.

.

Questionnaire design

Your questionnaire has to be in line with the research topic, research objectives, research proposal, and your ERB form. As simple as it sounds, too many students put questionnaires together without taking any of the above into account. As a result, you get a questionnaire, and subsequently a dataset, that does not correspond to the topic of the research or its objectives or the research proposal. If you are struggling with putting a questionnaire together, talk to us. We will help you create a questionnaire that aligns with your research topic, research objectives, research proposal, and your ERB.

.

Academic literature research

Academic literature research requires students to find and read a large number of academic sources. Most of the time, these are peer-reviewed scholarly articles, while in some cases textbooks are also permitted. Students tend to use non-scholarly sources in their research more often than permitted, thus putting a prejudice on the quality of their research. If you find yourself struggling with academic research, talk to us. We will help you search, skim through, choose, and summarize the insights from the academic literature sources for your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis.

.

Literature Review

When writing a literature review, you need to create a comprehensive story that supports your topic. Every word of that story has to be supported by peer-reviewed, scholarly articles and / or textbooks. Students often struggle with connecting insights from different sources into a comprehensive, properly-flowing text. If you are struggling and are feeling pressed on time, talk to us. We will work with you to put together a comprehensive, properly-flowing literature review using a large number (from 50 to 100 to 200+ depending on the requirements) of peer-reviewed scholarly sources for your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis.

.

Research data collection

Every research requires data to work with. Sometimes you will use a database available from your educational establishment, whereas in some cases you will need to find a database on your own or gather data using a questionnaire that you put together. Every case of data collection has its hurdles, many of which may not be obvious at the onset. More often than not, students find themselves lagging behind schedule when they embark on a journey to gather data for their research. If you are struggling with finding a dataset or collecting your own data, talk to us. We will help you find a ready-to-use dataset or collect your own data for the research.

.

Data coding, cleaning, preparing for analysis

Whether qualitative or quantitative, all data need a thorough preparation, including coding and / or cleaning, prior to feeding that data into the analysis for a Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis. Depending on the size of your dataset, such work may take dozens of hours. As a result, you will have a dataset that will render a meaningful analysis. Some students choose to bypass this step only to find out later in their work on their dissertation or thesis that such uncleaned data rendered erroneous results that cannot be used for the purpose of dissertation or thesis. If you find yourself struggling with coding your data or cleaning your dataset, talk to us. We will work with you to fully prepare your data for the analysis and make sure that such data produce meaningful results when analysed.

.

Statistical analysis

Statistical analyses required for a Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis can be very complex. The overall idea of the analysis will be presented in your proposal, however the actual analysis will not be performed until you get to the actual dissertation. The analysis also requires you to do a thorough research into the methodology and to prepare your dataset for the analysis (see Data coding, cleaning, preparing for analysis above). If you find yourself struggling with how to do the analysis including defining a statistical method to be used for the analysis; performing the actual analysis; and / or interpreting the results of your analysis, talk to us. We will work with you through the analysis from the beginning (from preparing the data) to the end (results interpretation) using any type of statistical analysis of your choice and to the requirements.

.

Discussion of analysis

Once you have completed your analysis in your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis, you need to compare the results of your analysis against those of other scholars. This is usually called Discussion, however it may be called other names as well. This is the part which many students find hard to write. If you are struggling with writing a discussion, talk to us. We will work with you towards completing a discussion of your analysis to the requirements and to your set deadline.

.

Referencing of academic sources in any format and / or software

Referencing is quite often ignored by students to the point that when a research paper has been finished, the References part of the document does not exist or is incomplete. References, however, are as important as the text of the dissertation or thesis, and the document will not be accepted for submission if references are fully or partially missing or incomplete. If you find yourself in a situation where you have completed your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis, but your references are incomplete, talk to us. We will help you fill in the gaps in your References list at the end of the document as well as throughout the document, format the references to the required format, and complete the work by the required deadline. We work with all academic formats (e.g. APA, Chicago, Harvard, IEEE, MLA, Vancouver, etc.) as well as any referencing software (e.g. CiteThisForMe, EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.).

.

Auditing of references

More often than not, references in a dissertation or thesis get lost, are incomplete, or a reference is being made to a wrong source. Once the work is complete, it becomes a very time consuming and also tedious task to go through every reference and check it. If you find yourself pressed on time to submit your dissertation or thesis and you need help double-checking every references of the hundreds of references in your dissertation, talk to us. We will work with you to check if every reference mentions the right source, whether it is complete, whether each reference is properly formatted both in the text and in the References part, and find and fill in missing references, if any. We will work with you with any number of references from 50 to 1,000, and we will work to a set deadline.

.

Document formatting to meet the requirements

Every educational establishment has strict rules towards how a Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis needs to be formatted. Even such little details as improper page numbering, margins, indents, spacing, among many others may deduct points from your final grade or even lead to your submission not being accepted. If you find yourself pressed on time to format your document and prepare it for the final submission, talk to us. We will format your document meticulously to the requirements and by your desired deadline.

.

Comprehensive editing

Once your Master's or PhD dissertation or thesis is complete, it will go through a number of revisions within your educational establishment. More often than not, students get asked to re-think and re-write parts of the dissertation, or even entire chapters. This may happen when your reviewer considers that not sufficient academic research was presented, that the findings were not properly discussed against the literature, or the analysis is not sufficiently strong. If you find yourself in this situation and you are squeezed on time, talk to us. We will comprehensively edit your text to ensure it flows properly, more research is added, if needed, and that the text meets the requirements of your reviewers.
